Shareholder Blake Cole took center stage at this year’s Primerus Defense Institute (PDI) Convocation, leading a highly anticipated session on artificial intelligence and digital file management in modern legal practice.

Blake was joined by representatives from Filevine, a Primerus trusted partner and the firm’s cloud-based legal operations platform, for a live demonstration of how Saalfield Shad, P.A. is integrating AI-driven tools into our day-to-day workflow. The session drew considerable attention from attendees, with PDI leadership describing the presentation as “mesmerizing.”

Filevine’s end to end solution combines intake, case management, document generation, task automation, communications, reporting, and analytics in a single platform. At the heart of Blake’s demonstration was LOIS (Filevine’s Legal Operating Intelligence System), an AI tool built on top of a firm’s existing case data.

LOIS streamlines the document-intensive work that traditionally consumes significant associate and paralegal time: summarizing depositions, medical records, and discovery materials; drafting and revising routine pleadings and correspondence; and identifying patterns within a case that might otherwise go unnoticed.

What resonated most with attendees was not the technology itself, but the intentional, disciplined way in which Saalfield Shad has woven these tools into its practice. As one PDI leader noted following the session, “This is not AI as a gimmick. This is AI as a force multiplier.”

Saalfield Shad is proud of Blake’s leadership in bringing innovative, practical solutions to the legal profession and of the firm’s continued commitment to delivering smarter, more efficient representation for its clients.
