Partners, Blake Cole and Kelly Salgado obtained final summary judgment in a wrongful death case in Baker County. The case stemmed from an altercation on private property, where our client intentionally shot the decedent and claimed self-defense. The Plaintiff’s estate claimed that the defendant executed the decedent in cold blood. There were no witnesses to the shooting. The case focused heavily on forensic crime scene experts and forensic pathologists and included extensive pre-trial discovery of individuals with the prior investigating law-enforcement agency including firearms and ballistics analysts.

Through extensive preparation and skillful cross-examination of Plaintiff’s experts, the defense was able to demonstrate that Plaintiff could not carry the burden of proving that the defendant was negligent and legally responsible for the claimed damages.
