Chuck Shad, a highly regarded litigation attorney and a shareholder of Jacksonville-based Saalfield Shad, P.A., has been selected as the 2017 Trial Lawyer of the Year by the American Board of Trial Advocates for the Jacksonville Chapter. This award is regarded as one of the most prestigious honors for a trial lawyer to receive.

“Chuck is an accomplished, respected trial lawyer and is known throughout the State of Florida as one of the top medical malpractice defense lawyers,” said Bob Cole, practicing attorney and fellow member of the Jacksonville Chapter of ABOTA. “Chuck is known and respected for his ethics, civility, and professionalism; he sets an example for all others.”

Shad, a senior shareholder with the firm, has practiced law in Florida for nearly 50 years. His decades of experience and success representing hospitals and health care professionals in complex medical claims have earned him the reputation of being an excellent and ardent advocate for his clients. His achievements include an impressive record of defense verdicts for his clients. Shad also holds an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell, its highest ranking.

“Chuck is an excellent trial lawyer and role model for others,” said Richard Stoudemire, shareholder at Saalfield Shad. “In addition to being an excellent trial lawyer, he has been committed to training and mentoring young lawyers. The firm is pleased to see his work and efforts honored with this award.”
