Setyo Laksono, an associate with the firm, practices in the areas of general civil litigation, premises liability, insurance defense, and medical malpractice defense.
Originally from Indonesia, Setyo is a longtime resident of Florida. He earned his B.A. in International Studies and Russian Studies, magna cum laude, from the Stetson University in Deland, Florida. Setyo then served as an educator for three years in the Volusia and Pinellas County school systems teaching History. Following his career as a teacher, he attended the Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida, on a full merit scholarship, earning his J.D., cum laude, in 2024.
Throughout law school, Setyo was heavily involved in academic journals. He served as both the Notes & Comments Editor and the Editor-in-Chief of the Stetson Business Law Review. During his time as an editor, Setyo earned the Outstanding New Associate Award, Outstanding Assistant Editor Award, and the Darby Award. Setyo was also an active member of the Stetson Alternative Dispute Resolution team, where he competed at both a national and international level. For his achievements, Setyo was awarded the Dispute Resolution Award for Excellence and the Stephanie A Vaughan Excellence in Advocacy Award. To round out his academic career, Setyo completed a judicial externship with the Honorable Sean Flynn, U.S. Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Florida.
Outside of work, Setyo enjoys going to the movies, cooking, fantasy football, and strategy games.
